TACK!

Stort TACK till Sinnet, samt till alla som kom och såg på / hängde med oss och Fou De Toi i Göteborg i helgen. Det var sannerligen en ära att få spela för er.
Nedan följer lite bilder från spelningen.
Vi hörs.

AppleJuice Mixtape, Twitter

AppleJuice Magazine asked me to write about six songs that I think has inspired me. Here they are. There are no listening possibilities on the website, so I made a Spotify playlist with the songs as well. Make sure to check them out, as they are all great pieces of art.

Before you leave, however, I also want to inform you possible twitter users that I've got an account for TFP on there now as well. It's @thefierypiano. Trying to reach out and all that, y'know.

Have a great evening, morning, or day.

Amazing radio UK, New Gig Date

OK, here it goes! Some relevant stuff happening next week;

On Monday, British radio station Amazing Radio will feature TFP in their Audition Show. From the little I know this is apparently a weekly show that picks the best new songs they've heard the past seven days.
The broadcast is 1 PM to 3 PM in the UK. If the genius mathematic part of my brain has calculated this correctly it will be 14.00 in Sweden.
Here's a link on how to listen to the broadcast online, on your iphone, or any other futuristic device you may own.

Thursday, October 6th, we'll be playing at Hos Kaj in Stockholm, Hammarby Sjöstad. Here's the facebook event for the night. Except for us, The Carpets will play, as well as DJ-sets from The Sonnets, Jerry Boman and Le Muhr.

See you there!

Candle of hope

Hello, you!

Today, UK-based online magazine/music blog (connections with BBC?) The Recommender wrote a great article and review of Sirens EP. It's not great only because it puts the spotlight on The Fiery Piano, but it lights a little candle of hope for all of the small indie bands trying to get coverage without a label or any promotional help backing them up, if you only play your cards right. Read what the author has to say about it here.

And to those of you who live in Stockholm; Don't forget that we're playing on Wednesday the 14th of September at Landet with Grenades for the wall. Facebook event here.

See you!

Featured in AppleJuice Magazine!

Hello, dear friends!

A couple of days ago, AppleJuice Magazine wrote an article called Making Waves. It lists a few "bands [the writer] thinks are gonna be making noises at bigger venues quite soon", and supposedly The Fiery Piano is one of those bands, altough I leave that unsaid.

Well, let's hope Daniel Oswin is right, and read his words in the article here.

See you soon!

Videotheque #2! A Murderous Consequence live in a circus tent

Fellow friends.
Long time, no see. The swedish summer explains it all, since its' two months basically make up the limited time you can enjoy the sun up here in The Great North
This time of year, you don't really want to spend your time inside... BUT, we did anyway. In a circus tent actually, in an effort to shoot an acoustic performance of "A Murderous Consequence".
WATCH THE RESULT HERE. Have a great Youtube view, and enjoy the weather.

THANK YOU's goes out to:
Tove Fröberg for putting up with me, and superb vocal back-ups
Jakob Säw and Joanna Larsen for filming, ideas and a whole lot of patience

Peace, love and understating

Pow! Pow! Pow!

Esau from music blog Esau.se included The Fiery Piano in his latest "Poptimist" blog post. It's a great blog, you should really go and check it out (only in swedish, though).
Below is a sneak-preview of a second acoustic live video we recorded some days ago for the song "A Murderous Consequence". Keep your eyes fixed on Youtube if you want to see it.

Videooooooo-theque!

Hello.

We went to a small church and recorded this video of an acoustic version of Sirens.
Before you watch it, I would like to introduce the band that will be playing with me from now on.
Kristoffer Byström, Daniel Nilsson, and Max Anderhell (from left to right, aside from me in the middle).
A big shout-out to Johan Stahre for organizing and holding the camera!

For those who haven't noticed, The Fiery Piano is now also on Facebook. Go to the Facebook Page, and click "LIKE" if you do just that.

Good night.

Earplugs not included, Da da da music blog and video delays.

God dag.

The live video session I mentioned in a previous post has taken a little more time than I hoped it would. The issues are simply editing, and because I suck at it, I've asked for help. If everything works out correctly, an acoustic version of Sirens should be uploaded within a week!

What's also coming up is a music video of Horrible Thoughts - as in the second track on the ep. I can't really tell you a lot about this one yet, other than that I'm really excited to see how it unfolds.

Lastly, I would like to mention two great music blogs, starting with Earplugs Not Included who wrote a great review of Sirens EP - CLICK HERE TO READ IT.
The second one is The Da Da Da Music Blog who once in a while have a "Friday Free Feature". This week was my turn, and you can read about it by staring long enough at THIS button.

I hope you are well.

The warm vibes of a fiery piano.

Today, the Australian music blog Indie30, wrote some poetic lines about The Fiery Piano.

"...With hardly a ivory laden tinkle within earshot, Montelius prefers guitar and electronic apparati to drive his sound while eschewing either a drum machine or a traditional drum kit for field recordings and chopped up samples as the vehicles for percussion. The Fiery Piano creates elements of old and new to create a warm, almost pastoral feel..."

Read the whole post by pressing your finger ON the computer screen, literarily, HERE!

I also discovered that someone have uploaded the tracks from the EP on youtube, with some color-changes on the album artwork. It's a strange world we live in.

Have a great weekend!

Pigeons and Planes about The Fiery Piano!

Hello again, brothers and sisters.

I don't want to be crude with all this posting, but since the majority of life-style bloggers writes several times a day, I guess I can't be accused for spamming. After all, you can choose to not continue reading.
Enough! To the point;

What I wanted to tell you was that the music blog Pigeons & Planes wrote about me in a post they made yesterday. Read yourself onwards, and click your way cross the universe HERE.

See you.

Blog posts from Largehearted boy and Faronheit + Upcoming Stufffff.

Good evening, fellow listeners and friends.

Today, the great people at the noteworthy music blog Largehearted boy included Sirens EP in their "Daily Downloads" post, alongside tracks from great bands like The Antlers and Okkervil River. Check out the blog, and view the post HERE.

I also forgot to tell you that the Chicago-based blogger Faronheit did a similar thing last week, only they call their section "Pick your poison". If you want to read more about that, push THIS big button.

This is great news for me, since it's kind of hard reaching out to people without big bucks and major labels backing you up. Fortunately there are nice people out there who write about music that isn't all about generating a cash flow.

Lastly, I would like to take the opportunity, seize the moment (poetry side: ON), or whatever, to announce that we're going to shoot some video footage with the band, hopefully resulting in some series with live versions of TFP songs you have or have not heard, starting next week.
More info about that later.

That's it. Go on. Surf yourself onwards!

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm about to conquer the world (wide web).

Good evening, dear listeners and followers!

I've simply got two things I'd like to tell you;

I've started rehearsing with a band of three great musicians and friends, taking baby steps towards our premiere gig which will happen sometime this summer. I'll let you know when, where and how later on, when we're getting closer. So, stay tuned for that.

Until then, not to sound like a TV commercial, Sirens EP is now on Spotify, as well as on iTunes and several other places in the outer space. It would be stupid to download it from iTunes, though, because the EP is actually still free of charge HERE.
If you still just can't refuse that strong urge to download it from iTunes, I would be more than thankful for the donation. It's like four bucks (=36 SEK) for the whole thing.

Sleep carefully, drive well.

Featured in the music blog Swedesplease.net!

Hello hello hello!

It''s been two days since the release of Sirens EP. I hope you've been enjoying it so far, but would also like to take the opportunity to encourage you to listen to the songs more than just once. There are lots of cool things to discover in them, sounds to explore, lyrics to decode etc.

Anyways;

In their latest entry, the music blog Swedesplease wrote a short notice about me. If you like to, you can read it HERE.

Have a great day!

EXTRA EXTRA: Download Sirens EP, my first release, for FREE!

Good evening!

I am very proud, a little scared, but mostly happy, to present to you my debut release as The Fiery Piano. It's called Sirens EP and is a four-track album about growing up, be the last one to die, mental illness and so on.. It's all in there, the lyrics speak for themselves, and the sounds sound like they should.

All instruments on the EP I play myself. The vocals are sung by me solely, except on the fourth and last track, "A Murderous Consequence", where Tove Fröberg contributes with her magnificent voice.
I've mixed everything myself, but got lots of professional input by Wallentin Richardson, who also mastered the EP at Discrete Motion Recordings in Malmö.
The idea for the cover artwork was Tove's, I created it, and Philip Blomqvist extended a helping hand.

I would like to shout out some special thankyou's to everyone who have supported me during the months I've been working on the recordings(in no particular order):
Tove Fröberg (for coping with recording sessions and late night mixing)
Oscar Montelius (for helping out with basically everything on this EP, even when it was just a thought)
Daniel Nilsson (my Feldt-mate, friend and inspiration)

Almost there.

Ok, I'm getting closer. The songs are finished, as in written, recorded and mixed. The last songs are send to the mastering studio, and if things work out as they should I will have all of them mastered and ready this very weekend.
I've decided to call the EP "Sirens", and it will be released for free as a digital download on my homepage as soon as the cover artwork is done. I'll let you know.

Wrapping it up.

I've handed over the first two songs of the EP to a friend for mastering. Meanwhile, my fingers are literarily burning as I try to finish the mixes for the remaining ones.
